Terms and conditions

Graduate Talent Pool provides employers with the facility to advertise paid graduate internship opportunities to recent graduates of UK-based universities.

Graduate Talent Pool is managed on behalf of the Department for Education (DfE) by Graduate Prospects (Prospects). Graduate Prospects is the commercial subsidiary of the Higher Education Careers Services Unit (HECSU), a registered charity that supports the work of higher education careers services in the UK and Ireland and funds major research projects that benefit the higher education careers sector.

Prospects is registered in England and Wales as Graduate Prospects Limited, Prospects House, Booth Street East, Manchester, M13 9EP. Company registration number 2626618.

All advertisements accepted for publication by Graduate Talent Pool are subject to the following conditions. No other conditions will be binding unless agreed in writing by Graduate Prospects and the employer (you).

Nothing in this agreement creates any agency, partnership or joint venture between you and Graduate Prospects or the Department for Education.

Accessing the service

Employers may create a login account for Graduate Talent Pool free of charge. Account information is held in the UK by Graduate Prospects for the purpose of facilitating the administration of internship vacancies, communication with registered employers and the provision of statistical information. Other than the information displayed on https://graduatetalentpoolsearch.direct.gov.uk in relation to specific vacancies, account information is only accessible by specifically authorised Graduate Prospects employees and is held for no longer than required for its intended purpose.

You, as a registered employer, are responsible for the accuracy and security of the account including, where appropriate, the amendment of any contact information and the distribution of account details (e.g. username and password) within your organisation.

Graduate Talent Pool reserve the right to amend, deactivate or remove any account without explanation, at their discretion.


Subject to compliance with these terms and conditions, Graduate Talent Pool will, without fee, arrange for the display of advertisements on the Graduate Talent Pool internship website, found at https://graduatetalentpoolsearch.direct.gov.uk.

You will provide all materials for the advertisement and warrant that:

  • you are authorised to enter into an agreement with Graduate Prospects and the Department for Education;
  • you are authorised to provide the required details of the advertisement(s) in compliance with the requirements of all applicable legislation, including any subordinate legislation and the rules of statutorily recognised regulatory authorities;
  • any information supplied in connection with the advertisement(s) is accurate, complete, true and not misleading;
  • each advertised vacancy constitutes a paid graduate internship opportunity with a duration not exceeding twelve months;
  • applicant data including, where applicable, Personal and Sensitive Personal data (as defined in EU General Data Protection Regulation ((EU) 2016/679) (“GDPR”) shall only be used for the intended purpose (application to the advertised vacancy) and will be securely deleted once that purpose has been fulfilled;
  • you will indemnify Graduate Talent Pool and agree to keep indemnified against any and all claims, costs, proceedings, demands, expenses or liability whatsoever arising directly or indirectly as a result of any breach or non-performance of the representations, warranties or other terms contained in these conditions or implied by law; and
  • neither Graduate Prospects nor the Department for Education will be liable for any loss or damage (including any special, indirect or consequential damages, including, without limitation loss of profits or other consequential loss) resulting from the delay or failure of an advertisement to appear on the date(s) specified, from the failure of an advertisement to appear in any specified position, from the appearance of any error in an advertisement for any reason, or from the discontinuance of the Graduate Talent Pool service;

Graduate Talent Pool reserve the right to omit, refuse, withdraw or cancel advertisements without explanation, at their discretion.

Freedom of Information

The Department for Education is a public authority and, as such, may be subject to requests made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Graduate Prospects, as a limited company, are not subject to the same requirements but may be obliged to provide to the DfE, other information of a non-personally identifiable nature, as the result of such a request.
